Seasons at the Apple Barn A familiar stop for generations of travelers along Old Highway 75, the newly expanded Apple Barn offers a large selection of seasonal produce as well as various activities, festivals and attractions throughout the year.
The Orchard Trail A 2.5-mile educational trail system features a series of interpretive panels that teach visitors about the growing and harvesting of fruits and vegetables as well as the importance of caring for the land.
Vineyard The 6.5-acre vineyard at Kimmel Orchard serves the tastes of the produce market and the educational needs of the fast-growing grape and wine market in Nebraska and the surrounding region.
Kimmel Kitchen Visitors year-round can sample apple cider or enjoy a selection of Farmer's Choice meats-seasoned with the orchard's own apples and cherries-on the daily lunch menu at the Apple Barn's Kimmel Kitchen.
Gift Shop The Apple Barn's gift shop features a wide range of Nebraska food products as well as a variety of Nebraska crafts and other gift items that celebrate the agricultural life.

The Kimmels championed the benefits of higher education, and in 1925 began work with the University to develop a research facility for alternative crops.
History
Richard P. Kimmel grew up in Nebraska City where he attended school and graduated in 1915. After high school, he attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon.
