Gift Shop

The Apple Barn's gift shop features a wide range of Nebraska food products and a variety of Nebraska crafts and other gift items that celebrate agricultural life. Gift items range fro, handcrafted birdhouses and wooden toy kits to natural soaps and candles. The gift shop also features a wide selection of Nebraska-made food products including wine, meats, sauces and sweets. And of course you'll find Kimmel's own label products throughout the shop-honey, apple baskets and jams that make a any visit to Kimmel both tasty and memorable.

The Kimmels championed the benefits of higher education, and in 1925 began work with the University to develop a research facility for alternative crops.

History



Richard P. Kimmel grew up in Nebraska City where he attended school and graduated in 1915. After high school, he attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon.
