Kimmel Partners

The Kimmels championed the benefits of higher education, and in 1925 began work with the University to develop a research facility for alternative crops.

Today, research is conducted in cooperation with the National Arbor Day Foundation and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln through the Kimmel Education and Research Center.

KERC's focus areas include viticulture, specialty forestry crops, agritourism, and helping agricultural producers with marketing and production techniques. KERC hosts several "field days" each year at the orchard.
