Apple Processing

Since Richard and Laurine Kimmel planted their first apple trees in these rolling hills in 1925, the Kimmel name has become known for some of the finest produce in the Missouri Valley. Today, Kimmel's 90 acres contain thousands of apple trees representing over 20 varieties.

This wide selection extends the apple harvest from August through November, and offers something for everyone, from snackers to pie bakers. During the harvest season the Apple Barn clatters with activity as the harvest is gathered, sorted and made available in the newly expanded Apple Barn along with other fresh fruits and vegetables.

Today, the tradition of excellence and innovation continues as new apple varieties are tested and new ground is readied for another generation of apple lovers. From Early Gold in August to Winesap in the fall, there's an apple for every need and taste at Kimmel Orchard.
