Cherries Harvest: June 23 to July 7 (approximate) One of the biggest cherry orchards in the tri-state area (Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri), Kimmel Orchard is renown for its pleasingly tart Montmorency variety, particularly prized for pie baking. The picking begins in late June, and visitors to the Orchard can watch pitters and sorters in action at the Apple Barn during the two-week harvest. The cherries go fast, so if you want a taste of this time-honored harvest, visit early, and often!
