Jams, Jellies and More
Kimmel Orchard processes a number of products using its own homegrown produce. In addition to wine, apple and cherry cider, also available year-round are Kimmel jams and jellies, fresh and frozen pies, apple doughnuts, apple and other fruit wines, popcorn, and locally produced meats seasoned with Kimmel's apples and cherries.

The Kimmels championed the benefits of higher education, and in 1925 began work with the University to develop a research facility for alternative crops.

History



Richard P. Kimmel grew up in Nebraska City where he attended school and graduated in 1915. After high school, he attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon.
