Kimmel Orchard offers a variety of products made from its own orchard selections. Available year-round at the Apple Barn are apple and cherry cider, Farmer's Choice meats, jams, jellies, pies, apple doughnuts and caramel apples. These and other items are available at the produce market, gift shop, and for diners at the Apple Barn's Kimmel Kitchen.

Cider Processing

During the apple harvest the Apple Barn is filled with the scent of fresh apples brought in from the orchard and pressed into cider in Kimmel Orchard's state-of-the-art cider processing facility. But apples aren't the only attraction, as visitors in late June to early July can also taste the sweet results of cherry cider-making, another time honored tradition at Kimmel Orchard. Apple and cherry cider are available year-round at the Apple Barn.

Apple Processing

Within Kimmel's 90 acres are thousands of apple trees representing over 20 varieties. This wide selection extends the apple harvest from August through November, and offers something for everyone, from snackers to pie bakers. During the harvest season the Apple Barn clatters with activity as the harvest is gathered, sorted and made available in the newly expanded Apple Barn along with other fresh fruits and vegetables.

Cherry Processing

Another time honored tradition at Kimmel is the cherry harvest. Kimmel is one of the biggest cherry orchards in the area, renown for its pleasingly tart Montmorency variety, particularly prized for pie baking. The picking begins in late June, and visitors to the Orchard can watch pitters and sorters in action at the Apple Barn during the two-week harvest. The cherries go fast, so if you want a taste of this time-honored harvest, visit early, and often!

Jams, Jellies and More

Kimmel Orchard processes a number of products using its own homegrown produce. In addition to wine, apple and cherry cider, also available year-round are Kimmel jams and jellies, fresh and frozen pies, apple doughnuts, apple and other fruit wines, popcorn, and locally produced meats seasoned with Kimmel's apples and cherries.
